Maintaining an appropriate water supply is important for ivy; insufficient moisture will cause leaf drop.
Everyone’s growing environment is different, so learn to observe.

For a plant, when it’s newly brought home it usually needs some time to adjust to the new environment. The closer the environment matches its living habits, the faster it will adapt. Sometimes because of environmental change, the plant will instinctively accelerate its metabolism to adapt, and some leaf drop during this period is normal. Observe the plant’s changes—taking photos to record is a good method so you can compare differences after some time of growing.

Let’s get to the main points:

Light:

Semi-shade environment.Plants placed long-term in dim environments will find it hard to grow well.

A bright (minimum requirement is light in which your eyes can comfortably read) and well-ventilated space is the best growing environment for ivy.

Avoid exposure to direct strong sunlight.

Temperature:

Grows well in conditions around 18–20℃; leaf yellowing can occur when temperatures exceed 35℃.

Can tolerate brief periods of low temperatures around -7 to -8℃.

Moisture:

Maintaining an appropriate water supply is important for ivy; prevent the soil from completely drying out.

If moisture is insufficient, it will cause leaf drop. But in indoor environments do not overwater, as this easily leads to disease.

In dry air conditions, you should frequently spray the leaf surfaces and the surrounding area to increase air humidity.

Watering should be regular and in controlled amounts. If you accidentally skip watering once or twice, ivy leaves may become limp, but as long as the leaves haven’t completely dried out, they will mostly recover after resuming watering; the crucial issue is whether we skip watering many times in a row.

* Actual conditions may need adjustment depending on indoor environment and weather.

* If conditions allow, the recommended water source isfiltered wateror tap water left standing overnight (to dissipate chlorine/fluoride).

Use filtered water when possible. If using tap water, let it stand overnight to dissipate chlorine and fluoride.
