[Ep-18] Perfume Bottle Moss Planter — by GreenCapsule
The Perfume Bottle Moss Planter is a piece GreenCapsule launched in 2014, reducing the commonly seen moss terrarium/moss planter kept in glass bottles down to palm-sized.

This is the most miniature moss planter we have made; the bottle body has a diameter of less than 1 cm. The production process is more difficult than our moss bulb pieces.

Everyone’s growing environment is different; learn to observe.
For plants, when you first bring them home they usually need some time to adapt to the new environment — the more the environment matches their living habits, the faster they adapt.
Observe the plant’s changes more often; taking photos to record progress is also a good method, allowing you to compare differences after a period of cultivation.
The structure of the bottle is very suitable for the micro-ecological circulation inside this sealed-style planter; you may only need to add a small amount of water every six months or more. Even bonsai beginners can handle it easily as a low-pressure planter.
Care points:
Moss breathes and absorbs moisture through its leaf-like parts, so use misting to let it take up water. Although humidity fluctuations inside the bottle are small and moisture is harder to evaporate, it is still recommended to open the lid occasionally to exchange air for about 10 minutes and lightly top up moisture, allowing the moss to slowly adapt to the sealed test-tube environment. Internal temperature is directly affected by the external environment, so large temperature differences between inside and outside can produce a lot of condensation. Avoid places with rapid changes in temperature (above 30°C), such as direct sunlight or directly facing an air-conditioner vent. Remember not to add too much water (you’ll see water moving at the bottom of the bottle); excess moisture will make the moss prone to mold or even rot. You can add water when the moss turns a pale green. Moss turns pale green and enters a dormant state to conserve moisture when dry — a little misting will turn it back to bright green. If conditions permit, the water source is recommended to be filtered water or tap water that has been left standing overnight (so chlorine/fluorine dissipate). Weak sunlight (diffused light) is sufficient; avoid strong direct sun exposure. Optimal growth temperature is between 15°C and 25°C, survival temperature between 0°C and 40°C. (Article on daylight: https://www.greencapsulehk.com/post/ep-04-sunlight-full-partial-shade With proper care it can survive for several years or more.
